Tucson Nutrition Coach

Have you ever eaten a kiwi with the skin on?! ๐Ÿฅ
Yes, itโ€™s hairy but did you know that itโ€™s completely edible! Eating the skin triples your fiber intake and preserves more of the kiwiโ€™s vitamin C.
The skin on numerous kinds of produce are loaded with vitamins and minerals. Skins contain more fiber, phytochemicals, antioxidants, potassium, and many other important nutrients!

Before venturing into eating the skin- make sure to wash the skin thoroughly before ingesting! Itโ€™s also good to be aware of certain produce that tends to contain more pesticides. It is highly recommended to buy organic.

#protip if the skin is thin or porous itโ€™s more likely to absorb pesticides! Think potato vs avocado (porous ๐Ÿฅ” vs thick skin ๐Ÿฅ‘).

Ever heard of the Dirty Dozen?!
