Confidently rocking a pair of booty shorts is super empowering but having a strong posterior chain also decreases your risk of injury (particularly knee and low back), builds power, and helps you move more efficiently! If you want to gain strength, power, build a better butt, and decrease pain associated with muscle imbalances, you have got to train your posterior chain!
WHAT IS THE POSTERIOR CHAIN?
The posterior chain is a group of muscles on the backside of your body. These include the lower back, GLUTES, hamstrings, traps, calves, posterior deltoids, and obliques. These are referred to as a “chain” of muscles because they all form a chain that works together to support almost every movement you make in and out of the gym.

The purpose of our nutrition coaching is to help clients better understand how to fuel their bodies and reach their goals by creating sustainable, long-term, healthy habits regarding food.
Our program is unique and is designed to provide people with an easy, science-based approach to nutrition and wellness, using simple behavior modification strategies to create positive change without the stress of “dieting.” Your relationship with food is one of the most important relationships you will ever have. Food has the power to heal or hurt you. It is our goal to help clients learn about food, how to eat to properly fuel their body, and master the basics of nutrition.

About 15 months into training I just felt STUCK. I was training 5-6 times a week and I just couldn’t get the results that I wanted to feel solid mentally, physically and ultimately emotionally. I just didn’t feel like I was getting better. I was getting down on myself…what more could I do? The missing key: NUTRITION and KELLY! I decided to go for it and do the full 3 months. How bad could it be? It is only 3 months and I had a good base to my nutrition, so I thought. Kelly has a way of creating a personalized nutrition plan just for YOU based on your body, your activity, your preferences, physical accommodations and medical conditions. I had the biggest physical change I had ever had since being pregnant and my results are still happening to this day even after my 3 month time with Kelly. I realized that I am totally responsible for my nutrition and ultimately my own health. Between kids, schedules and life I did not have control over my food, when I ate, or what I ate. By taking control of my nutrition and following Kelly’s program I no longer had a stomach ache with bloating I that I felt all the time. I became stronger, healthier and mindfully clear. I found that I was more stable emotionally without highs and lows to my mood and pleasantly became aware that I wasn’t feeling overwhelmed with things that plagued me before dialing in on my nutrition. Having a better understanding of my nutrition has given me the opportunity to feel HEALTHY and to be in tune with my body so that I can listen and do what it needs.
In February of this year a picture was taken of me that I couldn’t believe when I saw it. I knew I had gained a little weight but didn’t realize how much. The picture did NOT make me feel good about myself and it was confirmation of what I already knew but didn’t want to admit; even though I was doing CrossFit multiple times per week, I was not a healthy person. I was getting married in 9 months and knew I wanted to be healthier as I started the next chapter in my life. In April I found out that Kelly offered one-on-one nutrition coaching. I was ready to make a change, but I had a couple fears going in; was I going to be hungry all the time? Was the cost going to be worth it? Was I going to be limited to chicken and veggies with no flavor? I decided to take the plunge and I learned after the first few weeks that my fears had no basis.

Meet Your Coach.
Kelly graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.S. in Nutritional Science and an emphasis in dietetics. Kelly has always had a passion for people, helping others succeed and feel comfortable in their own skin is something she strives to do through nutrition and fitness. Through her own personal experience and experiments with nutrition, Kelly has established a solid foundation of healthy eating. She believes in keeping it simple, eating real whole foods, and nurturing a healthy relationship with food.
